Florida Real Estate Development Advisor

Vice-Chairman of the Board and Senior VP  and Real Estate Community Development

Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the Board of Directors Received two Master Degrees, one an MBA from Western Kentucky University and the other masters in Banking and Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. With over 55 years managing people, companies and banks. I have served the community as a school-teacher (3 yrs), a City Council member (6 yrs), United Way Fund Drive Chmn (4 yrs), Lions Club member, President of the S Texas Bankers Association, and President of the S Padre Island Business Association. I founded and operated a construction and development company, which focused on developing hotels, Assisted Living Care Facilities and medium sized municipal buildings. The company's average annual gross revenue was in the $65M - $70M.

My life's focus has been to help improve and provide services for those in need of a 'hand-up' not a hand out. For the past decade I have focused my attention on providing our veterans and families, and veteran organizations (National and State VA systems), with solutions to a variety of real time veteran issues that were being ignored. I founded Commonwealth Cardinal Foundation International Address ('CCFINTL') to address many of these issues today, not the least of which is housing, education / training, healthcare and rehabilitation, to name a few.

Received Bachelor & Masters in Urban & Regional Planning from Texas A&M University.  53 years business experience: Palm Beach County Zoning Department, Director of Downtown Development Authority of West Palm Beach.  Proceeded to work with Lennar Corporation, Land development focused on entitlements, planning & development in South Florida.  Started my own planning business following the successful bid & closing on the AmeriFirst assets, in a joint venture between Lennar & Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund (“MSREF”); the largest  Resolution Trust Corporation(“RTC”) receivership disposition, at that time.

In 2000 finalized a partnership with K&P and MSREF, to purchase and entitled the single largest real estate acquisition in Florida, consisting of 91,000 acres, known as Babcock Ranch.  Spun off 73,000 acres to the State of Florida and retained 17,890 acres for a new town development. [Note: the State of Washington Pension Fund replaced MSREF funding position].  I served as the court-appointed receiver to manage one of the largest bankruptcy cases in Miami.  In 2014, I retired from K&P and reopened my planning and development firm to assist builders in the acquisition, design and implementation of community developments in South Florida & the Treasure Coast.  I continue as a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
